Who Was the Kerrygate Deepthroat?

Now the real fun will start - who created the forgeries and why? Of course, everyone knows the why - to defeat the evil Bush. WhizBang already has started the guessing. Ironic that Rather may yet again help elect a Bush (does anyone remember his interview with GB the Elder in 1988?).

With friends like Rather and 60 Minutes, does Kerry need any enemies? The team at CBS was so focused on breaking damaging information on Bush (wonder why they were so reticent with the SwiftVets who had some veracity even if all their claims did not pan out as verifiable) that they don't seem to have done any serious vetting and as a result may do some serious damage to Kerry at a time when he is already weakened. As if Kerry needed any problems with vets, one just has to read the quote from Killian's wife:

Connell said her late husband would be "turning over in his grave to know that a document such as this would be used against a fellow guardsman," and she is "sick" and "angry" that his name is "being battled back and forth on television."
and from WaPo:
In a telephone interview from her Texas home, Killian's widow, Marjorie Connell, described the records as "a farce," saying she was with her husband until the day he died in 1984 and he did not "keep files." She said her husband considered Bush "an excellent pilot."

"I don't think there were any documents. He was not a paper person," she said, adding that she was "livid" at CBS. A CBS reporter contacted her briefly before Wednesday night's broadcasts, she said, but did not ask her to authenticate the records.

Man, Rove may not have to even break a sweat if the Demmies continue at this pace. I keep asking whether anyone could make up some of the stuff that the dems have done lately? I guess CBS decided it could (cheap shot, sorry, could not resist). Can't the dems even come up with decent forgeries - how can you trust a party that can't even execute on a dirty trick?
